love traveling and taking lots of pictures for personal collection as well as stock photos. Learning new culture is an eye opener. It truly makes me appreciate the country I come from - Singapore!
My most interesting travel experience in Asia is ... :
Bali, during their New Year day. The whole Bali was not allowed to have the lights on. its a way to show respect to their Gods. Tourists were locked up in the hotel rooms, no beach activity, no shopping...totally nothing. All we can do is stay in the room and watch TV and have room service. At night, we had to dine in the restaurant in the hotel itself in total darkness. It was an amazing experience. Just before midnight, there were a long parade around Bali and just outside our hotel with lots of loud traditional music, dancers in masks and costumes; the Barongan. If you want to experience this, visit Bali in April.
I'm looking for ... (eg. advice / tips / help / others) :
probably travel buddies...
I'm able to offer ... (eg. advice / tips / help / others) :
advice, tips and experiences...:D
Hmmm ... Is there anything else I would like to say to or share with people in this network? :
AM shopaholic! Hahaha. I shop when I am depressed, when I am happy, when I am sad, when I am angry, when I just feel like shopping even though I REALLY have nothing to buy.
I have a weakness for ... :
paperbags!! I know its insane. When I really do no have anything to buy, I would go into any department store buy a tiny item and asked for a paperbag. I feel good going home carrying one. Ain't it silly???
Give me a credit card with no limit and I would ... :
attack Burberry and Gucci boutiques. I've been a fan of Burberry since teenager but until recently I start hitting Gucci stores and I couldn't get out. Probably because they have more range of business bags.
Ooops, forgot to mention. I usually shop for my bags in London, New York or Paris. Their range are awesome!
I would describe myself as a ... (shopping style, habits ...) :
alright. This is tough!
If I want to buy a white blouse, I would walk into every store in Orchard Road and short list items on my PDA, walk back to he end of Orchard Road or elsewhere (still have not bought that damm blouse), walk back to the first shop, still considering and go to the next shop and next and next and after 8 hours, I decide, I don't like any of them.
Life is tough, so is shopping! LOL
The best deal I've ever gotten was ... :
Wow! Will never forget this. My Godfather took me to New York and we were in Rockefeller Center, where the rich goes to. He took me into Etienne Aigner boutique and he made the staffs treat me like a princess. I just had to point what I wanted and they brought all the items to my feet. I left the store with several items including a pair of shoes worth US$600.
Best deal ever gotten and never be forgotten!!! Hahaha
I'm looking for ... (eg. advice / tips / help / others) :
Shopping buddies who appreciate good things in life.
I'm able to offer ... (eg. advice / tips / help / others) :
McDonalds meal for going shopping with me...
Hmmm ... Is there anything else I would like to say to or share with people in this network? :
Errr...work hard and shop less? BULLSHIT! come with me and let's go shopping.
am SKINNY and wonder where all the food goes to. Any idea? I can eat a lot over dinner, gain over 1kg then and the next morning, I'm back to my weight before dinner. I can eat McDonald Big Mac meal upsize plus 6 piece nuggets plus apple pie and a strawber
My all time fave food / restaurants / cities to visit for food are ... :
BURGERS. Really. Beef, medium done serve with fries and salad...yummmmy! Try Bistro at Wheelock Place and ask for 6" Empire Burger.
TENDERLOIN STEAK. Medium done serve with mushroom sauce. Try Pasta Fresca da Salvatore Restaurant.
MARRIOTT HOTEL BUFFET. Love the variation and of course deserts!
I can cook ... :
Beef Rendang, Sambal Goreng, Lodeh (lontong's gravy), Chicken Curry, Tomato Rice, Chicken in Tomato Sauce, Sweet & Sour Fish...oh man, the list goes on!
Is baking included? I can bake Pineapple tarts, egg tarts, beefy tarts, Kueh Bangkit, Chocolate Chip Cookies (trust me, mine is the best), Creamy Dreamy Puffs, Layered cake (traditional and Prune) and lots lots more! Phew!
The most amazing thing I did for good food was ... :
to starve myself the entire day, no breakfast, no lunch just for a buffet dinner with friends at my favourite Marriott Hotel. Guess what? By the time I was there, my gastritis was attacking me so badly that I couldn't finish my first plate. The next few days I was on serious medication as the gastritis had lead to heartburn. Ouch!!! Lesson learnt!
If I can only have one thing for my last meal, it would be ... :
my special creamy dreamy puffs. I altered the original recipe till I proudly announced that is mine. My bestfriend is addicted to it and so the rest whom have tried. I was offered to cater my puffs at delicacies stores or functions.
When I started to bake them many years ago, I love it so much that I had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 days at least. Kept baking them...I really mean 3 days solely on cream puffs. LOL.
I am looking for ... (eg. advice / tips / help / others) :
anyone who has an extreme liking for certain food and love eating without gaining weight just like I do. Possible? HAHAHA
I am able to offer ... (eg. advice / tips / help / others) :
...definitely not my recipes. LOL. I can tell you where to enjoy nice dining without burning a big hole in your pocket.
Hmmm ... Is there anything else I would like to say to or share with people in this network? :
Eat as much as you like and don't worry about that weight.
When baking, follow directions.
When cooking, go by your own taste.
When eating, ignore that weight gain.
